A critique of the attitude of Indymedia, other alternative media and individuals during the protests in Brussels (December 2001)
After participating in the protests against the EU-Summit in December 2001 in Brussels, we are still angry about how many photos and videos were made during the different demonstrations. Brussels was not the first time that we have noticed this (obviously its happened before, but not on such a large scale), so we hope that with this critique, we can start a discussion process which we feel is vital. Rond 25-30 zwaarbewapende politie en FBI-agenten hebben een aanval uitgevoerd op het huis van de oprichter van de anarchistische/militante site raisethefist.com. De site is gecensureerd door de staat, apparatuur en literatuur is in beslag genomen. Sinds 1999 werd de site intensief geobserveerd door het departement van Defensie van de VS, de FBI, NSA en de politie. De regeringen van Engeland, Canada, Litouwen, Belgie, Egypte, Finland en Oostenrijk surveilleerden de site.
