Why I selected to go on a hunger strike:
To select the hunger strike is to make the ultimate political action in order to claim one’s dignity and freedom. Its only aim is to defend our existence against any oppression and authority. After many years of being oppressed and kept as a hostage of the Greek state’s policy, I chose to go on a hunger strike for the second time, putting my life in danger inside an indifferent society witch only aims to consumption, individualism, and how you can have a nice time, apathetic to what might be happening around you.
For numerous years, in every attempt I did to get the political asylum, witch according to the evidence I have brought to the Ministry of Public Order (and witch are still filed there) it results that I am entitled to receive the political asylum as well as the Greek citizenship, nevertheless the present as well as all the previous ministers didn’t accept to sign. Violating, as they always do, the same laws they have passed.
To select the hunger strike is not an action of weakness or desperation. It is a way of struggle that will bring important results to the mass of immigrants, and also to all those that will stand up for me.
Hunger strike is a selection of political opposition to the front that state has opened for years now against refugees and immigrants, violating their rights every day (torturing, imprisoning, isolating them in concentration camps reminding us these of the Hitler period).
Could we assume that it’s worth dieing or getting disabled for a piece of paper? The question here, is not just about the political asylum but it concerns the total political repression of the Greek state against me, threatening me to quit my social and political activity. In other words they say: “Either you stop with that, or we get to punish you for life”.
I have chosen my way and I will keep on it. Just as the authoritarians and oppressors have chosen their own. Therefore, the clash with them is an one-way for every dignified human being. Neither have I regretted for what I have done in the past (in both Turkey and Greece) nor will I regret for anything I shall do now or in the future. This explains why I confront such oppression.
Whoever whishes to show his solidarity with me, should respect my political vision, that is anarchy, and my anarchic activity. I care for political and social solidarity, not humanitarian. Cause there can be nothing humanitarian in barbarism when you don’t clash with what bears barbarism that is political authority. ZULKUF MURAT BORA (BAHOZ)
Why I demand the political asylum, what political asylum is, and the case of Greece:
I, Zulkuf Murat Bora, more widely known as Bahoz, was forced to leave Turkey in 1995 due to my political beliefs and the Turkish state’s repression I was facing as a result from my struggle for the rights and liberty of the Kurdish people. Since 16/05/1999 there is an accusation against me from the Diyarbakir State Security Law Court of me being a part in an “armed and illegal Kurdish left organization” (which is how the Turkish state characterizes the Liberation Party of Kurdistan, in which I participated). The case against me is still pending. I asked for the political asylum in Greece. The first response I got was negative, so I applied again. The Greek state though didn’t accept even to examine my application, so I went on a hunger strike until my application was examined. That is on 02/05/2002 after 22 days of hunger strike. It’s a strange thing that the seven-member committee voted in favor of me with five votes for, one against and one neutral. From that time until today I have not received any answer, despite the fact that according to the legislature the minister owes to respond to the positive proposal of the committee within three to six months. The decision is still in his office in the Ministry of Public Order. In spite of the committee’s positive result the Minister does n t accept to sign the decision. His reasons are well known: after the pro-Kurdish Greek state handed in Otzalan to Turkey, both countries co-signed anti-terrorist agreements to assure that the Kurdish and Turkish fighters will be punished with many years of being kept as hostages, no responses to their applications for the political asylum and finally deportation.
What political asylum means:
According to the Geneva treaty (1951) when a person being outside its country of origin or accommodation, has a justified fear of prosecution, for reasons of race, religion, nationality, participation in a particular social group or political beliefs and because of this fear of prosecution he/she does not want or can return to his/hers country, deserves the political asylum.
Greece is a natural crossroads, an obligatory pass for the refugee camions. The asylum, however, is given to only an extremely few surviving refugees after long complicated and prohibitive bureaucratic processes. All applications are turned down after a long period of pending or suspension, the refugees are threatened with deportation. Greece is the last country within the “civilized” European Union in providing political asylums. We can say that political refugees are kept as hostages by the Greek state. They have no rights at all (medical care, education, work etc).
Hundreds of immigrants and refugees from numerous countries, waiting for their deportation, are kept for months imprisoned in vulgar conditions.
Refugees and immigrants who protest against this situation have been on hunger strikes many times before. The illegal and barbarous violations of the immigrants rights are multiplying continuously. The deportations of humans that are exiled because of wars, political refugees, with not even examining their applications for the political asylum, political prisoners abandoned in deserted camps in the winter, immigrants murdered by the cops in front of people have become common, everyday scenes…

The country we live in, has been importing refugees for years, victims of the expansionism of every great national leader, exporting immigrants to the industry of the West persecuted by the civil war and occupation, leftovers of their destructed cities.
Memory however, remains selective or completely wiped out. Today, society believes its supposedly self-sufficiency and prosperity. So what if half its citizens borrow their entertainment money from usurers and banks? The dominants war “against terrorism” in Yugoslavia, Kosovo, Somalia, Afghanistan, Iraq, Turkey and other places is, we like to believe, so far away. The more remote such a war seems, the greater solidarity we feel. It’s just that refugees, victims of wars or strugglers against totalitarian dominions, are here. And they are kept waiting. A present without future. Promising to legalize them or give them political asylums, the “Greek paradise” can accept them only after turning them into docile workers, “nice folks” or even nicer police informers.
Maybe the purpose of this blackmailing is to turn them to “proper Greeks”: erase their past, make them work all day long, watch TV, take loans to buy cars, houses, for vacations or their children’s education, keep their mouth shut, don’t protest, fill in clubs and bars every weekend, pay taxes, vote, and always blame the “others”, the “foreigners”, the strangers and make them pay for everything that’s going wrong in their own lives. Maybe the purpose is to make refugees and immigrants the same as the locals: people that just survive instead of really living.
Whoever is not “brought to reason” is led to the police station to get convinced properly: humiliation, beating, torture and deportation to jailhouses or fire squads. While all these take place 50.000 applications for political asylums remain in the offices of the authorities. Applications that accomplish all the acceptance requirements, yet they do not become accepted just us the people who submit them. Bahoz is one of them. With no need for excuses, our solidarity is imposed by the history of the human race. A history that for some is a real tragedy and for others a farce… only that now, the tragedy and its consequences will have an impact on the carefree and indifferent too.
We make clear that from now on, the people we want near us and who we regard as friends and comrades are the people who carry on their bodies the evidence of the crimes committed by the states they lived in. all those who can teach us through their experience where the thirst for power, the lust for money and authorities to impose exploitation and crashing whoever resists leads. And this need for substantial knowledge of the reality they have imposed on us, suffices in itself to say: we want Bahoz now, here and for as long as he wishes. Bahoz and every Bahoz…
For us, it’s other things that we should erase from earth: states, nationalism, wars, repression, exploitation, gods, bosses and their world that revolves infinitely around money.

Η επιλογή της απεργίας πείνας είναι η έσχατη πολιτική επιλογή για τη διεκδίκηση της αξιοπρέπειας και της ελευθερίας. Στόχος της δεν είναι τίποτα άλλο παρά να υπερασπιστούμε την ύπαρξή μας εναντία σε κάθε καταπίεση και εξουσία. Μετά από πολλά χρόνια πολιτικής ομηρίας και καταπίεσης από το ελληνικό κράτος, αποφάσισα για δεύτερη φορά να ξεκινήσω απεργία πείνας και να διαλέξω αυτό το δρόμο θέτοντας και τη ζωή μου σε κίνδυνο, μέσα σε μια κοινωνία αδιάφορη, όπου στόχος είναι η κατανάλωση, η ατομικότητα και πώς θα περάσεις καλά αδιαφορώντας για το τι συμβαίνει γύρω σου.
Εδώ και πολλά χρόνια, σε κάθε προσπάθεια που έκανα να πάρω το πολιτικό άσυλο και με τα στοιχεία που έχω (αυτά που υπάρχουν στο φάκελο μου που βρίσκεται στο Υπουργείο Δημόσιας Τάξης) προκύπτει ότι δικαιούμαι το πολιτικό άσυλο και την ελληνική υπηκοότητα, αλλά ο τωρινός Υπουργός Δημόσιας Τάξης και οι προηγούμενοι υπουργοί που περάσανε μέχρι σήμερα, δεν δέχτηκαν να υπογράψουν. Καταπατώντας όπως κάνουν πάντα, τους νόμους που οι ίδιοι έχουν φτιάξει.
Η επιλογή της απεργίας πείνας δεν είναι μια πράξη αδυναμίας και απελπισίας. Eίναι ένας τρόπος αγώνα που θα φέρει σημαντικά αποτελέσματα στο χώρο των Μεταναστών και Προσφύγων, αλλά και στους ανθρώπους που θα δώσουν την αλληλεγγύη τους.
Η απεργία πείνας είναι μια επιλογή πολιτικής αντιπαράθεσης στο μέτωπο που το κράτος έχει ανοίξει εδώ και χρόνια εναντία στους Μετανάστες και Πρόσφυγες, καταπατώντας καθημερινά τα δικαιώματά τους (βασανίζοντας, φυλακίζοντας, βάζοντας στα στρατόπεδα συγκέντρωσης που μας θυμίζουν τα στρατόπεδα της εποχής του Χίτλερ).
Μπορείτε και μπορούμε να πούμε ότι αξίζει για ένα κωλόχαρτο να πεθάνει ή να μείνει ανάπηρος ένας άνθρωπος; Το ζήτημα δεν είναι απλά το πολιτικό άσυλο, αλλά η πολιτική καταπίεση που ασκείται από το ελληνικό κράτος εναντίον μου, πιέζοντάς με να μην ασχολούμαι με τα κοινωνικά και τα πολιτικά προβλήματα. Mε απλά λόγια μου λένε ''ή θα σταματήσεις με αυτά ή θα σε τιμωρούμε μια ζωή''.
Εγώ έχω διαλέξει το δρόμο μου και εκεί θα προχωρήσω. Όπως οι εξουσιαστές και οι καταπιεστές έχουν διαλέξει το δρόμο τους, έτσι και η σύγκρουση μαζί τους αποτελεί μονόδρομο για κάθε άνθρωπο με αξιοπρέπεια. Ούτε έχω μετανιώσει γιʼ αυτά που έχω κάνει στο παρελθόν (σε Τουρκία και Ελλάδα) και ούτε θα μετανιώσω γιʼ αυτά που θα κάνω τώρα και στο μέλλον. Για αυτό είμαι αντιμέτωπος με τόση καταπίεση.
Όποιος θέλει να δώσει την αλληλεγγύη του προς εμένα, να σεβαστεί και να υπολογίζει την πολιτική μου επιλογή, δηλαδή τον αναρχικό χώρο και την αναρχική μου δράση. Θέλω πολιτική και κοινωνική αλληλεγγύη αλλά όχι ανθρωπιστική. Γιατί ανθρωπιά δεν υπάρχει μέσα στη βαρβαρότητα, όταν δεν έρχεσαι σε σύγκρουση με την πολιτική εξουσία που γεννάει αυτή τη βαρβαρότητα.

ΓIATI ZHTAΩ ΠOΛITIKO AΣYΛO, TI EINAI ΠOΛITIKO AΣYΛO KAI ΠΩΣ ANTIMETΩΠIZETAI ΣTHN EΛΛAΔA
Εγώ ο ZULKUF MURAT BORA, γνωστός στο ευρύτερο χώρο με το όνομα ΒΑΗΟΖ, εγκατέλειψα (αναγκαστικά) τη Τουρκία το 1995 λόγω των πολιτικών μου πεποιθήσεων και της καταπίεσης που δεχόμουν ως αποτέλεσμα της σύγκρουσής μου με το τουρκικό κράτος για τα δικαιώματα και την ελευθερία των Κούρδων. Από 16.05.1999 υπάρχει κατηγορητήριο εναντίον μου από το Δικαστήριο Κρατικής Ασφαλείας του DIYARBAKIR, ως μέλος σε «ένοπλη και παράνομη κουρδική αριστερή οργάνωση» (όπως χαρακτηρίσει το τουρκικό κράτος το Απελευθερωτικό Κόμμα του Κουρδιστάν στο οποίο συμμετείχα). H υπόθεση εναντίον μου ακόμα εκκρεμεί. Zήτησα πολιτικό άσυλο στην Ελλάδα. Η πρώτη απάντηση που πήρα ήταν αρνητική και έκανα ξανά δεύτερη αίτηση. Aλλά το ελληνικό κράτος δεν δέχτηκε να εξετάσει την αίτησή μου, με αποτέλεσμα να ξεκινήσω απεργία πείνας μέχρι να εξεταστεί η αίτησή μου, κάτι που έγινε στις 2.05.2002, μετά από 22 μέρες απεργίας πείνας. Το παράξενο είναι ότι πέρασα από την επταμελή επιτροπή με θετική απόφαση 5 υπέρ, μία κατά και μία ουδέτερη. Από τότε μέχρι σήμερα δεν έχω πάρει καμία απάντηση, παρόλο που σύμφωνα με τη νομοθεσία ο υπουργός θα έπρεπε να απαντήσει στη θετική για μένα πρόταση της επιτροπής μέσα σε τρεις έως έξι μήνες. Η απόφαση περιμένει στο γραφείο του Υπουργείου Δημοσίας Τάξης. Παρά τη θετική εισήγηση της επιτροπής, ο υπουργός δεν δέχεται να υπογράψει την απόφαση. O λόγος είναι γνωστός. Μετά από την παράδοση του Οτσαλάν από το «φιλοκουρδικό» ελληνικό κράτος στην Τουρκία, ξεκινήσανε αντιτρομοκρατικές συμφωνίες μεταξύ των δυο κρατών με στόχο οι Κούρδοι και οι Τούρκοι αγωνιστές να τιμωρούνται με χρόνια ομηρία, να μην απαντιούνται οι αιτήσεις τους για χορήγηση πολιτικού ασύλου και τελικά να απελαύνονται.
TI ΣHMAINEI ΠOΛITIKO AΣYΛO: Σύμφωνα με τη Συνθήκη της Γενεύης (1951), όταν ένα άτομο που βρίσκεται εκτός της χώρας καταγωγής του ή του τόπου κατοικίας του έχει δικαιολογημένο φόβο δίωξης για λόγους φυλής, θρησκείας, εθνικότητας, συμμετοχής σε ορισμένη κοινωνική ομάδα ή λόγω πολιτικών πεποιθήσεων και εξαιτίας αυτού του φόβου δίωξης αδυνατεί ή δεν επιθυμεί να επιστρέψει στη χώρα του, δικαιούται πολιτικό άσυλο.
H Eλλάδα αποτελεί ένα φυσικό σταυροδρόμι, ένα αναγκαστικό πέρασμα για τα καραβάνια των προσφύγων. Όμως το άσυλο δίνεται με το σταγονόμετρο στους επιζήσαντες εξόριστους, μέσα από πολύπλοκες και απαγορευτικές στην ουσία τους γραφειοκρατικές διαδικασίες. Oι αιτήσεις για άσυλο απορρίπτονται από το κράτος μετά από ένα μεγάλο χρονικό διάστημα εκκρεμότητας ή αναμονής και οι πρόσφυγες απειλούνται με απέλαση. H Eλλάδα είναι η τελευταία χώρα της ''πολιτισμένης'' EE στη χορήγηση πολιτικού ασύλου (0,3% των αιτήσεων γίνονται αποδεκτές). Mπορούμε να πούμε ότι το ελληνικό κράτος στην πράξη έχει καταργήσει εδώ και χρόνια το πολιτικό άσυλο. Mπορούμε να πούμε ότι οι πολιτικοί πρόσφυγες στην Eλλάδα κρατιούνται σαν όμηροι. Δεν έχουν κανένα δικαίωμα (ιατρική περίθαλψη, εκπαίδευση, δουλειά κλπ).
Eκατοντάδες μετανάστες και πρόσφυγες από διάφορες χώρες, που περιμένουν την απέλασή τους, κρατούνται για μήνες στις φυλακές σε άθλιες συνθήκες. Mετανάστες και πρόσφυγες που διαμαρτύρονται γιʼ αυτή την κατάσταση έχουν κάνει πολλές φορές απεργία πείνας. Oι παράνομες και βάρβαρες πράξεις ενάντια στα δικαιώματα των προσφύγων και μεταναστών αυξάνονται συνεχώς. H απέλαση διωγμένων, λόγω πολέμου, πολιτικών προσφύγων, χωρίς καν να εξετασθούν οι αιτήσεις τους για άσυλο, η εγκατάλειψη των πολιτικών κρατούμενων μέσα στο χειμώνα σε εγκαταλειμμένα στρατόπεδα, οι δολοφονίες μεταναστών από σφαίρες μπάτσων μπροστά στα μάτια του κόσμου έχουν γίνει πλέον συνηθισμένες πράξεις.

Zούμε σε μια χώρα που για χρόνια εισήγαγε πρόσφυγες, θύματα των μεγάλων ιδεών του κάθε μεγάλου εθνάρχη, και εξήγαγε μετανάστες στις φάμπρικες της Δύσης, κυνηγημένους από κατοχή κι εμφύλιο, απομεινάρια κατεστραμμένων πόλεων.
Ωστόσο η μνήμη παραμένει επιλεκτική ή πλήρως σβησμένη. H κοινωνία σήμερα νομίζει πως είναι αυτάρκης και σε ευημερία. Tι κι αν οι μισοί διασκεδάζουν από δανεικά τοκογλύφων και τραπεζών. O πόλεμος των κυρίαρχων ''ενάντια στην τρομοκρατία'' σε Γιουγκοσλαβία, Kόσοβο, Σομαλία, Aφγανιστάν, Iράκ, Tουρκία και ποιος ξέρει που αλλού, είναι, νομίζουμε οι αφελείς, μακρυά μας. Kαι όσο πιο μακρυά μας είναι, τόσο πιο ''αλληλέγγυοι'' είμαστε. Mόνο που οι πρόσφυγες, θύματα πολέμων ή αντιστεκόμενοι σε ολοκληρωτικά καθεστώτα, είναι εδώ. Kαι ζούνε στο περίμενε. Ένα σήμερα δίχως αύριο.
Mε τον εκβιασμό της νομιμοποίησης ή της χορήγησης πολιτικού ασύλου. Mε τον εκβιασμό να γίνουν υπάκουοι εργάτες, ''καλά παιδιά'' ή καλοί ρουφιάνοι, για να γίνουν δεκτές οι αιτήσεις στον ελληνικό παράδεισο.
Ίσως ο απώτερος σκοπός αυτού του εκβιασμού να είναι ο εξελληνισμός: άνθρωποι δηλαδή που, με σβησμένο παρελθόν, δουλεύουνε όλη μέρα, βλέπουν τηλεόραση, παίρνουν δάνεια για αυτοκίνητα, σπίτια, διακοπές ή για τα φροντιστήρια των παιδιών τους, το βουλώνουν, δε σηκώνουν ανάστημα, γεμίζουν τα μαγαζιά κάθε Σαββατοκύριακο, πληρώνουν φόρους, ψηφίζουν και βρίζουν πάντα τους άλλους, τους ''ξένους'', τους διαφορετικούς, ότι είναι υπεύθυνοι για όλα τα δεινά της ζωής τους. Ίσως, ο απώτερος σκοπός είναι οι μετανάστες κι οι πρόσφυγες να γίνουν κατʼ εικόνα και ομοίωση των ιθαγενών, που επιβιώνουν δίχως να ζουν πραγματικά.
Όποιος δεν συνετίζεται, περνάει από το τμήμα για τα περαιτέρω: εξευτελισμοί, ξυλοδαρμοί, βασανιστήρια κι απελάσεις σε σίγουρες φυλακίσεις ή σε εκτελεστικά απσπάσματα. Kι όλα αυτά τη στιγμή που 50.000 αιτήσεις για χορήγηση πολιτικού ασύλου παραμένουν στα συρτάρια των δήθεν υπευθύνων. Aιτήσεις που πληρούν όλες τις προϋποθέσεις αποδοχής, αλλά δεν γίνονται δεκτές γιατί δεν είναι δεκτοί οι άνθρωποι που τις κάνουν. O Bahoz είναι ένας απʼ αυτούς. Xωρίς περιστροφές ή δικαιολογίες, η αλληλεγγύη μας είναι δεδομένη και αυτονόητη από την ίδια την Iστορία της ανθρωπότητας: μια Iστορία που επαναλαμβάνεται και σήμερα για άλλους μπορεί να είναι πραγματική τραγωδία και για μας κωμωδία ή φάρσα... Mόνο που στο επόμενο επεισόδιο, η τραγωδία και οι συνέπειές της με σιγουριά θα αφορούν τους τώρα ευτυχισμένους και αδιάφορους.
Kάνουμε σαφές ότι τώρα και για πάντα αυτοί που θέλουμε δίπλα μας και που τους θεωρούμε συντρόφους και φίλους μας είναι όλοι εκείνοι που κουβαλάνε πάνω τους τα αποδεικτικά στοιχεία των εγκλημάτων των κρατών όπου ζούσανε. Όλοι αυτοί που μπορούν να μας διδάξουν, από τα βιώματά τους, που οδηγεί η δίψα για εξουσία, το πάθος για τα χρήματα ή η ανάγκη των αφεντικών για πλήρη επιβολή της εκμετάλλευσης και για συντριβή όσων αντιστέκονται. Kαι αυτή η ανάγκη μας για ουσιαστική γνώση της πραγματικότητας που μας έχουν επιβάλει είναι από μόνη της ένας πολύ σοβαρός λόγος για να πούμε: θέλουμε τον Bahoz εδώ, τώρα και για όσο εκείνος επιθυμεί. Tον Bahoz και τον κάθε Bahoz...
Γιατί για εμάς, άλλοι και άλλα πρέπει να χαθούνε από προσώπου Γης: τα κράτη, οι πατρίδες, οι πόλεμοι, η καταπίεση, η εκμετάλλευση, οι θεοί, τʼ αφεντικά και ο κόσμος τους που πάντα γυρίζει γύρω απʼ το χρήμα.

About twenty members of Greenpeace from Germany, Holland, Russia, Austria and Serbia and Montenegro were arrested yesterday at about 11.00 in front of Sava Center that is hosting the Annual Assembly of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD). They were protesting against loan that EBRD is to approve to a consortium led by Shell for the large project of exploitation of naphtha and gas at the shore of Russian Sakhalin Island. Sinds bekend is dat er een nieuw "verdrag tot vaststelling van een Grondwet voor Europa" zal worden voorgesteld, zijn we door pers en media getrakteerd op onophoudelijke brainwashing, erop gericht om de bevolking ervan te doordringen dat "ja" stemmen het enige redelijke antwoord is, terwijl ondertussen als 'n graf gezwegen wordt over de ware desastreuze gevolgen die dit verdrag zal hebben voor de Europese bevolking (overigens kan in landen als Belgiλ zelfs niet eens meegestemd worden, daar heeft de regering namens het volk al "ja" geknikt...).

Vanaf 12 oktober staan in Genua, Italie, 45 politiemensen en artsen terecht. Zij zijn aangeklaagd voor zware mishandeling van arrestanten tijdens de G8 top in juli 2001. Afgelopen maandag besloot een onderzoeksrechter dat de rechtszaken inderdaad gaan plaatsvinden. Dat meldt de Duitse Tageszeitung (Taz) deze week.
