De neoliberale terreur van de afgelopen decennia heeft veel mensen tot wanhoop gedreven. Zondebokpolitiek en andere verdeel-en-heers-tactieken van de heersende klasse zorgden voor grote verdeeldheid in de samenleving en brede normalisering van extreemrechts gedachtegoed. Dit maakte de weg vrij voor het aantreden van kabinet-Schoof I: de eerste regering onder leiding van extreemrechts sinds de nazi-bezetting.

Onder leiding van het nieuwe kabinet zal het sociale vangnet verder worden uitgekleed en de verdeeldheid alleen maar toenemen. Vluchtelingen zullen het nog zwaarder te verduren krijgen en islamofobie, antisemitisme en alle andere vormen van discriminatie steeds openlijker onderdeel worden van beleid. Nederlandse steun voor de genocide op de Palestijnen zal uitbreiden en de militarisering van fort Europa verder worden aangejaagd. En dit is slechts een kleine greep uit de verschrikkingen die verder worden doorgevoerd.

En het houdt niet op bij parlementaire politiek en beleid vanuit Den Haag. Extreemrechtse en fascistische groeperingen durven zich nu al steeds vaker op straat te vertonen. Zo komen aanvallen op linkse acties en de LHBTQIA+-gemeenschap steeds vaker voor. Een proto-fascistische ‘burgerwacht’ in Ter Apel kan zonder consequenties bewoners van het AZC ontvoeren, tie-wrappen en urenlang van hun vrijheid beroven. Demonstraties en andere acties van groepen als Voorpost en White Lives Matter worden door media en politiek gebagatelliseerd, waardoor hun ranzige gedachtegoed verder wordt genormaliseerd.

Daarnaast wordt het steeds moeilijker om in verzet te komen. Het demonstratierecht wordt uitgekleed en linkse activisten worden steeds vaker thuis bezocht, bedreigd en zelfs ‘preventief gearresteerd’ om angst aan te jagen. Onder voormalig AIVD-baas Schoof krijgen politie en inlichtingendiensten nog meer gewelds- en spionagemiddelen tot hun beschikking, gaan hun budgetten omhoog en wordt de geweldsinstructie verder uitgebreid.

Het is de hoogste tijd om ons zelf te organiseren en te bouwen aan een sterke antifascistische beweging die in staat is zichzelf en anderen te beschermen en extreemrechts daadwerkelijk de kop in te drukken. Het tonen van onderlinge verbinding en solidariteit op straat is daarbij belangrijk. Daarom roepen we iedereen op om op 22 september om 13.00 aan te sluiten bij de demonstratie Geef Haat Geen Macht van Platform Stop Racisme en Fascisme op het Spui in Amsterdam. Laten we met zoveel mogelijk mensen duidelijk maken dat wij ons niet verder laten verdelen en dat extreemrechts NERGENS WELKOM is, niet op straat, niet in de samenleving, niet in de regering!

The neoliberal terror of the past decades has driven many people to despair. Scapegoat politics and other divide-and-rule tactics of the ruling class caused great division in society and broad normalisation of far-right ideology. This paved the way for the inauguration of the Schoof I cabinet: the first government led by the far-right since the Nazi occupation.

Under the leadership of the new government, the social safety net will be stripped down further and division will only increase. Refugees will have an even harder time and Islamophobia, antisemitism and all other forms of discrimination will more and more openly become part of policy. Dutch support for the genocide on the Palestinians will expand and the militarization of fortress Europe will be further fueled. And this is just a small selection of the horrors that are being further implemented.

And it does not stop at parliamentary politics and policy from The Hague. far-right and fascist groups already dare to show themselves on the streets more and more often. For example, attacks on left-wing actions and the LGBTQIA+ community are becoming increasingly common. A proto-fascist ‘citizen guard’ in Ter Apel can kidnap residents of the AZC, tie-wrap them and deprive them of their freedom for hours without consequences. Demonstrations and other actions by groups such as Voorpost and White Lives Matter are being trivialised by the media and politicians, which further normalises their filthy ideology.

In addition, it is becoming increasingly difficult to resist. The right to demonstrate is being stripped down and left-wing activists are increasingly being visited at home, threatened and even ‘preventively arrested’ to instill fear. Under former AIVD boss Schoof, the police and intelligence services are given even more means of violence and espionage at their disposal, their budgets are being increased and the instructions on violence are being further expanded.

It is high time to organise ourselves and build a strong anti-fascist movement that is able to protect itself and others and actually suppress the extreme right. Showing mutual connection and solidarity on the streets is important in this respect. That is why we call on everyone to join the demonstration Give Hate No Power of Platform Stop Racism and Fascism on the Spui in Amsterdam on September 22 at 1:00 PM. Let us make it clear with as many people as possible that we will not let ourselves be divided any further and that the extreme right is NOWHERE WELCOME, not on the streets, not in society, not in the government!
