On Saturday 9 December all three parts of Adam Curtis' documentary ALL WATCHED OVER BY MACHINES OF LOVING GRACE can be seen at Filmhuis Cavia, Amsterdam.
British filmmaker Adam Curtis is one of the most admired thinkers of our time. With unique access to the BBC-archive he creates profound polemics argued with psychoanalysis, philosophy and media theory, that dissect the essence of the political and economic problems of our time.
In the three-part documentary All Watched Over by Machines of Loving Grace Curtis looks at the development of computers and the influence of these systems on our political and economic landscape. He researches the legacy of conservative writer Ayn Rand on the financial market, investigates the application of ecological theories on computer sciences and looks at the use of evolutionary theory in the creation of racial divide in Africa.
