On 3.12 8th edition of Freedom Fighters league took place in Poznań. This time it was organised in a way that everyone regardless of experience in martial arts could participate – there were less fights though.
The event started with open Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu training coached by black and purple belt. There were trainees that already had contact with BJJ and complete newbies including those who are already experienced in striking styles like muay thai or kickboxing. The aim of training was met. Most of the people taking part in it said they're likely to train the discipline from now on.
Next mini-tournament in BJJ took place (OPEN No-Gi). The fighter had different experience and weight but were fighting nicely. Hihgest belt was announced winner, you could expect that, but the atmosphere was full of friendship.
Last point of the event was meeting with Jarosław Urbański, author of „Meatless society” book. Urbański, researcher, activist, vegetarian since 80's and long distance runner as well. Meeting was having very broad field for discussion starting with vegetarianism and veganism refering to the developement of human societies and it's role in high intensity (as combat sports and long distance running requires) sports.
At night participants gathered on Rozbrat squat to watch KSW event broadcasted the same time. Afterparty took place till early morning.
As organizers we'd like to thank all that came, locals and internationals, fighters, coaches, training participators. See you soon!
