The police attacked Gezi Park on Saturday night.
At the time of the attack, the park was chockfull of the kind of people mistaking the place for a festical, coming with their kids and grandpa. As tensions built up confronting the police at the entrance of the park, people in the back went about their business noting
yet little of all.
Finally the police started with the watercanon, teargas and flashbang. They then invaded the park with an inordinate number of riot cops walking,
pushing the protesters to the back. At this point they rarely hit, but if they did, the victim had to be carried away.
Like before, the water from some of the water throwers was mixed through with gas, inflicting very bad skin burn on those who received it.
On the whole, some said the police violence to have been even worse than what happened in the two weeks before.
At the same time fighting broke out on Taksim square. The police drove the protesters slowly away down Istiklal Avenue. They finally pushed rioters
to the end at around half past five in the morning. At Harbiye and Nışantaşı pretty big street barricades were made in the night.
In front of the famous Diwan hotel, which during the past two weeks helped protesters more than once, people were tortured by gas and water for a long time, many were badly injured. The gas could be felt on several floors inside the building. People are still resisting right now.
