JUST A LOT OF NOISE... at most 50 people, 20 police men/women and a heap of big loudspeakers blasting some kind of 'ska' and 'reggae' mounted on an open truck, moving slowly along the river, over the bridge, stopping not far from our window... at the Waterlooplein, with unreadable banners, some symbols on a flag with a big fist and most of all deep sonic base sounds as loud as possible, making the windows rattle and the walls shake... Even the Indy Media web site.nl had no info what it is all about... what is the cause supported by this display of aggressive noise. Now they have been moved on by police on horses but we still hear them as they may have reached the other square behind us, the Jonas Daniel Meyerplein with it statue the Dokwerker (the dock worker) symbol for anti-fascist demonstrations against the Nazis in 1941... I do not understand what is supposed to be the function of this display... as the sound system was mostly used for playing pre-recorded music of the type I described above... I hear now the staccato of an angry voice reflecting on the walls of the houses... to whom is this voice speaking? What is it about? HONKE BOINK BOINK BONK TWRATTT I hear now, I am afraid there is no communication here.... as all the demonstrators must have been born half deaf... or at least die in that state...
