dus?
Thus? This posting is about establishing Israel's responsibility in the genocide of the Palestinians. Questions as to wether the mass killing qualifies as a genocide, how to define the victims as a specific population, and in how far the Israeli military and political leaders have actively acted the genicide, are interesting.
If you believe that Hamas' attack on Israeli civilians and militaries on Okt. 7th is part of a genocidal plan from Hamas (rather than, e.g., being part of the commonly recognised right to self-defense of the Palestinians), then you should surely report your findings to the Hague Court and start a case.
Well have a lot of fun with
Well have a lot of fun with the pending case.
Just reminding: there was a previous case involving genocide for the International Court of Justice, namely in 1999 when Croatia accused Serbia of committing genocide during the Yugoslav wars (and Serbia responding with accusing Croatia of the same). The court took more than 15 years to come to a verdict, which was: no genocide, in spite of more than 100.000 people killed and 4 million people driven away from their homes. In a case before this one, the ICJ concluded that the Srebrenica massacre, which took place under the eyes of the Dutch military, actually was a genocide.
Also look at how the verdicts are made: by voting of all the international judges. Many judges come from countries with authoritarian regimes and dictatorships.
How very interesting ... we'll be seeing in 15 years or so what will come out of this!
One last thing: you seem to be suggesting that the Hamas terrorist attacks of October 7 could have been "part of the commonly recognised right to self-defense of the Palestinians".
It was not.
It was an antisemitic pogrom, most definitely illustrating the genocidal intent of the fascist organisation Hamas and it's allies.
And we don't need an ICJ to establish that.
of course
"we don't need an ICJ to establish that"
Ah of course. Israel doesn't give a shit about International law, not about Human Rights and not about UN resolutions.
