Hier kun je discussieren over Solidariteitsactie Inheemse Bevrijdingsdag.
De actie is in solidariteit met Inheemse mensen die al eeuwen onderdrukt worden en aan de frontlinies staan voor bescherming van land, water en al het leven.
We roepen iedereen op om te komen naar de solidariteitsmars die om 16.30 start op de Dam! Samen wordt daar stil gestaan bij de dag dat Columbus in 1492 Abya Yala (het Amerikaanse continent) binnenviel. Een datum die het symbolische begin markeert van het Europees kolonialisme. Een proces dat wereldwijd genocide en ecocide in gang heeft gezet. Met als gevolg dat het recht op zelfbeschikking, identiteit en cultuur nog altijd onder druk staat. Inheemse natuurbeschermers worden ontheemd en vermoord; rivieren en milieu vervuild; en land onteigend voor winst van grote multinationals. Het gevolg is dan ook de huidige klimaatcrisis. Daarom is het tijd voor herstel, rechtvaardigheid en dekolonisatie!

On Wednesday morning, Oct. 12, with posters with texts like, "Indigenous Liberation NOW" and "It's not history if it's still happening." appeared in bus stops in Amsterdam.
The action is in solidarity with Indigenous people who have been oppressed for centuries and are on the front lines to protect land, water and all life.
We call on everyone to come to the solidarity march starting at 4:30 p.m. on Dam Square! Together we will commemorate the day Columbus invaded Abya Yala (the American continent) in 1492. A date that marks the symbolic beginning of European colonialism. A process that has institutionalised genocide and ecocide worldwide. As a result, the right to self-determination, identity and culture of Indigenous People's is still under pressure. Indigenous land defenders are displaced and killed; rivers and environment polluted; and land expropriated for the profit of large multinationals. The result is the current climate crisis. Therefore, it is time for reparatory justice and decolonisation!
