The Osterholz forest and occupation is under threat of eviction and uprooting.
The Oetelshofen lime works are firmly convinced that they will be able to start cutting down 5.5 ha of the Osterholz from Monday 3 January.
This would presuppose that the tree houses has already been evicted in the course of December. It is a realistic scenario. It is to be expected that the lawsuit still pending in a higher court will also be dismissed by the end of the year. In any case, the time for tactical games and clever deceptive manoeuvres seems to be over. The company rejects alternative proposals that would preserve the forest. Participation in the round table has also been cancelled. Although there was hardly anything of substance to talk about with the company anyway.
It is clear to the citizens' initiative "Osterholz bleibt" that their vigil (on weekdays from 6-12 a.m.) must continue into the new year. From their ranks there is an invitation to use the Osterholz for walks. Those responsible for evictions and clearings should now realise, that it is not just a small minority that is organising for forest conservation, together.
For all those who can come by: The occupants of the Osterholz are currently looking for (ecological) building and insulation materials for tree houses. But donations such as blankets, sleeping mats, sleeping bags and climbing materials would also be very helpful. The website of the resistance in the Hambach Forest, which has existed for many years, gives good examples of what makes sense for a forest occupation.

Even though the structures have grown significantly in the last few weeks, there is still a lot of space.
