News regarding mass deportation of Iraqis from Sweden
A planned mass deportation of refugees to Iraq was cancelled this Tuesday (May 22, 2012). According to the Swedish border police the flight was cancelled due to a sandstorm. We believe it is due to the political pressure from people in Iraq that don't accpet the humiliating
deportations of Iraqis. According to activists, Iraqi media has criticized the forced deportations.
The refugees waiting to be deported have been told that the flight will be replanned to later this week or next week.
This doesn't mean that Sweden stops the deportations but we hope it is a step in the right direction. We continue our work against mass
deportations until they are stopped!
