Waar: Dokhuis, Plantage Doklaan 8, Amsterdam, Netherlands
Wanneer: 18/03/2016 - 18:00 t/m 20/03/2016 - 17:00
Two months since COP21 (the United Nations climate conference held in Paris); since governments claimed they'd made history; since tens of thousands of us were in the streets of Paris, Europe, the world, denouncing the crossing of our red lines for a just and liveable planet. But it was never meant to stop there. Paris and COP21 were just the beginning, an excuse to get organised. Now the real work begins.
2016 is well underway, and the need to keep fighting, converging and building alternatives to this broken capitalist system is stronger than ever.
That's why Climate Justice Action- the European grassroots direct action network formed around COP21 - is calling its first meeting of 2016.
We want to bring together those already involved with CJA alongside new groups fighting climate-trashing projects across Europe and North Africa.
Whether you've been involved with CJA before or not, join us in Amsterdam from 18-20th March 2016 at the Dokhuis
The weekend begins on Friday at 6pm and we aim to finish at 5pm on Sunday. Translation will be self-organised; crash space provided, but bring camping mats and sleeping bag; vegan food available (donations welcome).
We sent a survey across the lists to find out what groups wanted from the meeting, and a full agenda will soon follow for all those registered, but to give a flavour of what's coming:
- a look back at 2015 and the mobilisations towards Paris: lessons learnt?
- a look forward into 2016: dream and scheme ways to resist together
- structures to move us forward: how CJA will function in the year(s) to come
- information and skills share: different strategies, struggles, plans and tactics
- co-creating a calendar: planning key dates
- making it last: get to know each other, link up our movements, have fun!
We operate a safer spaces policy, see here: https://climatejusticeaction.net/en/who-are-we/safer-spaces-policy/
To register - or if you have any questions - write to us at contact@climatejusticeaction.net
