De lezing vindt plaats in Resistor aan de Leidse Middelstegracht 36, in het complex van de Vrijplaats. Kees Stad vertelt de geschiedenis van de veroordeling en de executie van de twee Italiaanse immigranten en verhaalt over de wereldwijde solidariteitsbeweging. Ook zal Stad parallellen trekken met het heden.

EVERYONE DESERVES SAFETY
People are being killed in Sudan right now. The dictatorship and civil war are deadly. We demonstrate in support of refugees who do not get a residence permit in the Netherlands, that continues to see Sudan as a safe country.
But it is not.
Thousands of refugees can and dare not return and are stuck. They want to build a safe life but are not protected.

Een petitie tot onmiddellijk evacuatie van deze vluchtelingen en het stopzetten van de Nederlandse en Europese samenwerking met Libië om vluchtelingen tegen te houden. Want Nederland is medeverantwoordelijk voor de erbarmelijke situatie van vluchtelingen in Libië.
Na een razzia in de buitenwijken van Tripoli op 1 oktober j.l. - met 5000 arrestaties en 6 doden tot gevolg - hebben 3000 migranten middels een sit-in bescherming gezocht voor de deur van de vluchtelingenorganisatie UNHCR. Zij verdienen onze steun in hun dappere strijd.

De volxkeuken is opgericht vanwege het ontbreken van een Bed, Bad, Brood-regeling voor
ongedocumenteerden in Friesland. We worden gesteund door een reeks sympathisanten, en
zijn inmiddels gelieerd aan de Vrije Bond Friesland, Doorbraak en BIJ1. Vanwege het deurbeleid
van de nachtopvang komen mensen op straat te staan, en daarom hebben we eerder ons best
gedaan met een kleinschalige opvang van ongedocumenteerden. Met het samen eten op straat op
