Hier kun je discussieren over Rapid support needed. Municipality of Nijmegen started a war against squatting..
Wednesday 8th of November 6pm-7pm
City Hall (Burchtstraat) Nijmegen
The Municipality of Nijmegen has started the war against squatting*. Therefore, two members of Nijmeegs Jantien will use their civil rights to demand a solution to the housing crisis and an end to the further criminalization of squatting.
This emergency situation requires a robust, supportive and effective action. But we can’t stand alone. In order to exert pressure on the city council, we need rapid support! These upcoming Wednesdays, at least till election day (22nd of november) we will go to City Hall and address the council members directly.
Please share this message with everyone you know and help us make a stand against the housing crisis.
*The 5th of October Jantien squatted a store with apartments in the city centre across from city hall. On the 24th of october two members of the collective were arrested inside the squat while sleeping (having previously been granted house rights). The mayor, Hubert Bruls, approved this arrest. A week later, the 31st of October, Bruls sent out a letter to property owners on how to avoid squatters.
