It seems to me that a protest has to have a purpose and a goal.
Re-squatting the place, while it has been made clear that there is an intended purpose for it seems counterproductive.
Unless i'm mistaken the law, used to be, that you can use a squat, as long as there is no purpose for the building.
It has been made illegal nonetheless. I don't agree with this, but it's clear that "the movement" has lost it's influence on society. There is no "draagvlak",
there are no mass-protests. So, for me it would seem logical to try and andress these issues, rather then setting fires in the middle of the street. Fire, the primitive thing most people are scared for. That's a far fetch from real solidarity, that's solidarity with your own inner group, but as far as statements go;
It's a very bad one. For the rest of the world, the only thing you have accomplished is estranging yourself from it. I have no doubt your actions will be talked about. Most likely they will say, remember what happened at the slangenpand? Yes, let's create harsher laws and enforce them harder next time.
And i'm NOT saying that the city should be made commercial. What i'm saying is, pick your battles. Start where you have something to win, and where you can make a real point.
