Tonight an Israeli band will play in concert hall Paard in The Hague. The band in question is called “Yemeni Blues”, and although most of the band members are not of Arab descent, they have appropriated Arabic sounds and pro-zionist ideas often occur in their lyrics.

We are outraged by the framing of the events of 7 November as antisemitic attacks, and the subsequent draconian ban on protesting this weekend.

We will not let media and politicians who continue to enable the genocide in Gaza control the narrative. We refuse to let the charge of antisemitism be weaponized to suppress Palestinian resistance.
