Animal Liberation Front attacks slaughterhouse.

In early hours of 10th June 2025 the Animal Liberation Front carried out an attack on Slaughterhouse Plukon in Oosterblokker, Netherlands. 9 chicken transportation trucks and one van were completely burned down.
Factory manager Erlend Beltman reports to De Telegraaf (media) that he suspects arson and points to a freshly sprayed logo of the radical action group Animal Liberation Front (ALF) on the dumpster next to the fire.
The damage is estimated at more than 2 million euros. Plukon said they are investigating how they can restore logistics and limit the impact on their transportation and killing of chickens. At the time of the fire, the site was deserted.
According to the fire brigade, an explosion of the oxygen tanks could have led to a much larger “disaster”. Due to the smoke development and possible presence of harmful substances, the forensic police investigation couldn’t start until the next day.
In the past, activists have made pictures of the packed chickens inside the trucks in front of this slaughterhouse adressing the dreadful conditions of the chickens. Plukon and the organising action group claimed to work together?! The slaughterhouse tries to justify their beheading of 300.000 chickens each day, as a “transparent piece of the foodchain”.

According to the North Holland North Safety Region, immediate efforts were made to limit risks. There were tanks with liquid oxygen on the site. "Those oxygen tanks could have exploded and this oxygen could have acted as a large fire accelerant," duty officer Ron Zuiderwijk told the Noordhollands Dagblad on Sunday morning.
In response to questions from Streekomroep West-Friesland, the Safety Region does not address the possible risk of explosion. "Although the distance from the trucks to the tanks with liquid oxygen was still quite large, keeping these tanks wet and cooling was given priority. Immediate efforts were also made to cool the façade of the building to prevent overtopping from the burning trucks. In addition, we kept trucks wet nearby to limit the damage as much as possible," explains a spokesperson.
The tanks with liquid oxygen have a special design with all kinds of safety features to prevent them from collapsing, the spokesperson further explains. "Even under extreme conditions. Yet we do not take any risks in these kinds of incidents. In this case, this meant, among other things, that we actively cooled the oxygen tanks. Oxygen is not a flammable substance, but it strongly strengthens fire when it is released."
All info is gathered from dutch media and we tried to write/paste everything objectively to not put any unwanted words onto the comrades carrying out the attack (there has not been a claim or communique found on the internet that refers to this specifc action). The police remains clueless, repeatedly asking neighbors to snitch if they saw or recorded something that night.

Animal Liberation Front valt slachthuis aan
In de vroege uren van 10 juni 2025 voerde het front van de dierenbevrijding een aanval uit op slachthuis Plukon in Oostersblokker, Nederland. 9 kipvervoerwagens en één busje waren volledig afgebrand.
Fabrieksdiirecteur Erlend Beltman rapporteert aan De Telegraaf (media) dat hij vermoedt dat brandstichting en wijst naar een vers gespoten logo van de radicale actiegroep Animal Liberation Front (ALF) op de afvalcontainer naast het vuur.
De schade wordt geschat op meer dan 2 miljoen euro. Plukon zei dat ze onderzoeken hoe ze de logistiek kunnen herstellen en de impact op hun transport en doden van kippen kunnen beperken. Ten tijde van het vuur was de site verlaten.
Volgens de Fire Brigade had een explosie van de zuurstoftanks kunnen leiden tot een veel grotere "ramp". Vanwege de rookontwikkeling en mogelijke aanwezigheid van schadelijke stoffen, kon het forensische politieonderzoek pas de volgende dag beginnen.
In het verleden hebben activisten foto's gemaakt van de verpakte kippen in de vrachtwagens voor dit slachthuis die de vreselijke omstandigheden van de kippen aanspreekt. Plukon en de organiserende actiegroep beweerden samen te werken?! Het slachthuis probeert elke dag hun onthoofding van 300.000 kippen te rechtvaardigen, als een "transparant stuk van de foodchain".

Volgens Veiligheidsregio Noord-Holland werden onmiddellijk inspanningen geleverd om de risico's te beperken. Er waren tanks met vloeibare zuurstof op het terrein. "Die zuurstoftanks hadden kunnen ontploffen en deze zuurstof had kunnen fungeren als een grote brandweerversnelling," vertelde duty officer Ron Zuiderwijk op zondagochtend aan het Noordhollands Dagblad.
In antwoord op vragen van Streekomroep West-Friesland, gaat de veiligheidsregio niet in op het mogelijke risico op explosie. "Hoewel de afstand van de vrachtwagens tot de tanks met vloeibare zuurstof nog steeds vrij groot was, kreeg deze tanks nat en koeling voor prioriteit. Er werden ook onmiddellijke inspanningen geleverd om de gevel van het gebouw te koelen om te voorkomen dat overoping van de brandende vrachtwagens. Bovendien hielden we vrachtwagens in de buurt om de schade zo te beperken om de schade zo te beperken,", verklaart een spaaks.
De tanks met vloeibare zuurstof hebben een speciaal ontwerp met allerlei veiligheidsfuncties om te voorkomen dat ze instorten, legt de woordvoerder verder uit. "Zelfs onder extreme omstandigheden. De politie heeft geen idee en vraagt buren herhaaldelijk om te snitchen of ze die nacht iets hebben gezien of opgenomen.
