In this time of false honoring and hypocritical commemorating, we would like to watch this film together.
In Sobibor, Poland, was a secret extermination camp. A quarter of a million jews were murdered there. Nineteen trains left Westerbork in Holland for Sobibor, carrying a total of 34,313 Jews.
The impressive and daring plan for the revolt was made shortly after a group of Jewish Russian prisoners of war (some members of the Red Army) arrived in Sobibor. Every Nazi was to be killed at his post, silently. Then the weapons were to be seized, the gate to be stormed. Hundreds escaped, 47 of them survived the war. In this film some of the 47 look back on the massive camp breakout in 1943. After the revolt, Hitler ordered the camp to close.
