Ontruiming van sociaal centrum R.A.A.K. (Douwes Dekkerstraat 18) // Demonstratie tegen Gentrificatie 14 mei !!

In April 2022 is het gebouw aan de Douwes Dekkerstraat 18 gekraakt om een groep mensen van woonruimte te voorzien.
Het pand, wat al meerdere jaren leeg stond, groeide al snel in een plek voor verzet in de strijd voor betaalbare woonruimte en samen met de buurt tegen gentrificatie. Het reeds opgezette sociaal centrum R.A.A.K. heeft tientallen evenementen gefaciliteerd in het gebouw.
Op 11 Mei wordt het gebouw ontruimd door de knokploeg van justitie: de politie. De toekomst van het pand ligt bij een nieuwe eigenaar. Omdat er geen duidelijke plannen zijn, kunnen wij er van uit gaan dat het dure appartementen gaan worden voor yuppen of dat het weer leeg komt te staan.
Op zaterdag 14 Mei 14:00 is er een demonstratie tegen speculanten, de sloop van sociale huurwoningen en onbetaalbare woonruimte. We verzamelen naast het eerder gekraakte pand om ons sterk te maken voor woonzekerheid en betaalbare woningen. Verschillende groepen die actief zijn in de woonstrijd zullen een speech houden, er zal een sound system zijn en we lopen samen door de wijk.
Laat deze stad weer op staan tegen deze onderdrukking! Toon je solidariteit met de krakers!

In April 2022, the building at Douwes Dekkerstraat 18 was squatted to
provide a group of people with living space.
The building, which had been vacant for several years quickly grew into
a place for resistance in the fight for affordable housing as well as
project against gentrification, in collaboration wiht the neighborhood.
The social centre R.A.A.K. has facilitated dozens of events in the
building. On May 11, the building is going to be evicted by the thug
squad of justice: the police.
The future of the building is dependent on the new owner... Because
there are no clear plans we can assume that they will misuse it for
expensive apartments for yuppies or leave it vacant.
On Saturday 14 May 14:00 there is a demonstration against speculators,
the demolition of social housing sector and against non-affordable
housing.
We gather next to the previously squatted building to make a strong case
for housing security and affordable housing.
