Neoliberal NGOs must stop abusing and manipulating Angel's identity (Xingshun Zhou)
In the past few weeks, at the same time as Angel's suicide, several neoliberal organizations claiming to be defending the rights of lgbt refugees have been spreading propaganda for their personal and organizational interests by manipulating and abusing Angel's identity. Lgbt asylum support and COC limburg are some of these neoliberal organizations who manipulated and abused the identity of Angel for their own interests. Among these manipulations is an attempt to clean the hands of IND and COA from Angel's death, the neoliberal organizations that seeks to declare Angel's suicide not as a protest but a personal problem of her. Other abuses of Angel's identity by these neoliberals is that in order to show that they had a close relationship with Angel, these organizations publicly mentioned a rape case about her, which it never was a decision of Angel that such issue get publish publicly. These organizations went more deeply in the case, and without permission from Angel, even publicly stated the manner in which she had been raped. In the latest manipulation of Angel's identity is the performance of religious rites for an non-religious person. Angel was not religious but lgbt asylum support made a religious funeral for her.( By bringing in a Christian priest, Lgbt asylum support performed the sacred Christian rites on the coffin of the Angel and even manipulated the non-religious identity of Angel in favor of Christianity by laying flowers in front of a church.) On the other hand, these neoliberal organizations, without mentioning Angel's identity as a political activist and a political refugee, portray Angel as a person who was only a transgender refugee that got tired from her own personal life. These are just a few of the actions of these neoliberal organizations. Dozens of other lies and false allegations have also been made by these organizations.
The head of the LGBT asylum support organization is a person named Sandro Kortekaas who, in his old age, loves to present himself as a celebrity who is the only hero to fight for the rights of LGBT refugees. Sandro Kortekaas with dirty tricks that take full advantage of lgbt refugees' knowledge of legal issues, puts immigrants under the control of his organization like a slave. One of these tricks is to get immigrants' signatures for a lawyer that the organization gives to lgbt refugees, but having a lawyer from the organization means leverage that Sandro use it as a pressure on lgbt refugees to pursue his organization's interests. Sandro is an opportunist, egoist and patriot who has repeatedly stated his opposition to give solidarity and support for all immigrants in the Netherlands. In his view, only LGBT immigrants deserve support in his country.
In general, COC netherlands is not much different from LGBT asylum support, where COC Netherlands activities like LGBT asylum support are based on the manipulation, victimization and abuse of LGBT refugees. Unfortunately, due to a lack of choice and lack of existence of real solidarity, LGBT refugees are forced to contact organizations such as COC netherlands and LGBT asylum support, where the lgbt refugees become a tool for these organizations to achieve the personal and political interests. Angel's death and the actions of these organizations in this regard is a clear example of these organization's activities and its goals.
