This November 18th, XR Global Climate Hunger Strike (GCHS) is coordinating an unprecedented international mass hunger strike. We will demand that our governments declare a climate and ecological emergency, act now, and set up legally binding citizens’ assemblies. This November, official GCHS hunger strikes will last 1-7 days and no longer.

HOW TO JOIN

If you’re over 18 fill out this registration form. Under 18s registration form here (no under 16s; 16-18 year olds may only strike for 24hrs at a time. Individual organizations may endorse this Global Climate Hunger Strike.
Contact your doctor as soon as possible to ask for advice/oversight and if you need to set up an appointment. You can use this template as a starting point. All individuals are responsible for their own health.

OUR DEMANDS

Tell the Truth: Governments must tell the truth by declaring a climate and ecological emergency.
Act Now: Governments must act now to halt biodiversity loss and reduce greenhouse gas emissions to net zero by 2025.
Beyond Politics: Governments must create and be led by the decisions of Citizens’ Assemblies on climate and ecological justice.
