News about the 3 squats that got evicted in Athens. One squat reoccupied!
During the early morning hours of Monday, March 12 2018, a repressive operation was held against 3 squats in Athens. GARE and Zaimi 11 in Exarchia along with Matrozou 54 of "Community of Squats for Housing and Struggle" in Koukaki. Comrades of Matrozou 54 squat gave a fight and tried to defend the squat with great courage. The comrades from the 3 squats are held captive in the police headquarters in Athens (GADA) and are facing criminal accusations.
Some of the comrades got injured during their attempt to defend their squats against the riot cops, the criminal prevention unit (OPKE) and undercover cops.
On March 14th at 5PM, GARE squat was reoccupied and is back in the hands of the movement. Less than an hour after the resquatting of the building, 2 SUVs of OPKE arrived at the place and the cops started to prepare their armaments but when they realized that the squat was being guarded, they fucked off. Few hours later, a incindiery fascist attack on Panaitolou squat of the "Community of Squats for Housing and Struggle" in Koukaki (where also Matrozou squat belongs), was successfully repelled.
All this comes as a wave of repression (from the state and its cops along with their fascist helpers) to show off power and as an answer to the "Interbalkan Internationalist Demonstration for Solidarity to Libertatia Squat" that was held in Thessaloniki on the 10th of March. The demo was a antinationalist solidarity demo for Libertatia squat that got burned by fascists and football hooligans on the 21st January 2018, where collectives (including GARE and Matrozou 54 squats) and individuals from all over Greece and the Balkans participated, with the demo having around 3000 people.

Nieuws over de 3 kraakpanden die in Athene werden ontruimd. Een kraakpand is opnieuw bezet!
Tijdens de vroege ochtenduren van maandag 12 maart 2018 vond in Athene een repressieve operatie plaats tegen 3 kraakpanden. GARE en Zaimi 11 in Exarchia samen met Matrozou 54 van de "Community of Squats for Housing and Struggle" in Koukaki. Kameraden van Matrozou 54 hurkzit gaf een gevecht en probeerde de hurkzit te verdedigen met grote moed. De kameraden van de 3 kraakpanden worden gevangen gehouden in het hoofdkwartier van de politie in Athene (GADA) en worden geconfronteerd met strafrechtelijke beschuldigingen.
Sommige kameraden raakten gewond tijdens hun poging om hun kraakpand te verdedigen tegen de oproerkops, de criminele preventie-eenheid (OPKE) en undercovercops.
Op 14 maart om 17.00 uur werd GARE opnieuw bezet en is weer in handen van de beweging. Minder dan een uur na de herovering van het gebouw kwamen er 2 SUV's van OPKE aan en begonnen de agenten hun bewapening voor te bereiden, maar toen ze beseften dat het kraakpand bewaakt werd, rotten ze op. Enkele uren later werd een fascistische aanval op het Panaitolou-pand van de "Community of Squats for Housing and Struggle" in Koukaki (waar ook het Matrozou-kraakpand thuishoort) met succes afgeslagen.
Dit alles komt als een golf van onderdrukking (van de staat, zijn politie en hun fascistische helpers) om de macht te laten zien en als antwoord op de "Interbalkan Internationalist Demonstration for Solidarity to Libertatia Squat" die op 10 maart in Thessaloniki werd gehouden. De demo was een antinationalistische solidariteitsdemonstratie voor het Libertatia-kraakpand dat op 21 januari 2018 door fascisten en voetbalhooligans in brand werd gestoken, waaraan werd deelgenomen door collectieven (waaronder GARE en Matrozou 54 kraakpanden) en mensen uit heel Griekenland en de Balkan.
