Greece - Anarchists against the police and the drug mafia

March 11 in the Athens district of Exarchia was a demonstration of the anarchists against the drug mafias and police. It was held in response to the growing tension in the area between anarchists and drug dealers, including the last incident, when three companions were attacked with a knife by a dealer (more on this topic: insurrectionnewsworldwide.com)
The demonstration was shielding by anarchists armed with firearms (for video of 1:53), which is not seen in the Greek demonstrations since a sizeable time, and which was considered necessary because of the serious risk by heavily armed drug mafias cooperating with the police.
Part Athens anarchist movement combats drug gangs, which in the alternative district of Exarchia enjoy the tacit support of the police and the virtually total impunity. Recent events are only the continuation of the conflict.
