FRACKANPADA een internationaal Aktiekamp tegen Fracking, 13-19 Juli in Vitoria-Gasteiz, Baskenland

Deze zomer mobiliseren Europese anti-fracking bewegingen tot actie tegen schaliegasboringen in Baskenland - dicht bij de Spaans-Franse grens ten westen van Barcelona. Anti-fracking groepen uit verschillende landen doen een beroep op activisten uit heel Europa om te verzamelen voor een week-lang kamp met acties en skill-sharing om onze strijd te organiseren ter verdediging van onze velden, voor sociale rechtvaardigheid en een duurzame samenleving, evenals de ontwikkeling van ons verzet tegen fossiele brandstof winning en het onderliggende systeem van winst, ontruimingen en repressie.

Het kamp zal bestaan uit mensen betrokken bij de strijd tegen schaliegas uit alle hoeken van Europa, om ervaringen uit te wisselen en vaardigheden te delen; inclusieve sociale organisatie en rechvaardige alternatieven in praktijk te brengen; en actie te ondernemen om de praktijk van schaliegas winning bloot te leggen en te stoppen. Er zal een breed scala aan activiteiten zijn voor iedereen, van workshops en lezingen tot films, activiteiten voor kinderen en skill-sharing. We willen leren over fracking en vaardigheden delen voor het weren van deze industrie van groepen uit heel Europa en daarbuiten, we willen deze strijd ook verbinden met de strijd tegen klimaatverandering, de winning van fossiele brandstoffen, sociale onrechtvaardigheid en andere bedreigingen voor onze gemeenschappen. Een open oproep voor het programma van het kamp is online en open voor voorstellen.

De locatie van het kamp heeft een sterke symbolische betekenis als een plek met plannen voor schaliegasboringen. Het kamp ligt vlak naast een voormalige boorlocatie die ze willen uitbereiden voor de winning van schaliegas. Frackanpada heeft de steun van de inwoners van het nabijgelegen dorp, dat ons in staat heeft gesteld om te kamperen op hun land. Lokale activisten zijn duidelijk dat de tijd nu is om actie te escaleren in de regio "Hoe talrijker we zijn, hoe meer het ze kost".

Alleen samen kunnen we ons verzetten om hun plannen te stoppen. Het is tijd hun onzin aan te pakken. Het is tijd voor actie! Geen fracking hier noch ergens anders!

FRACKANPADA an international Anti-Fracking Camp, 13-19 July 2015 in Vitoria-Gasteiz, Basque country

This summer European anti-fracking movements are mobilising for action against fracking in Basque Country – close to the Spanish-French border, 500 km west of Barcelona. Anti-fracking collectives from several countries are calling on activists from across Europe to gather near Gasteiz-Vitoria for a week-long Frackanpada camp with actions and skill-sharing to organise our struggles in defense of the land, for social justice and for a sustainable society as well as developing our resistance against fossil fuel extraction and the underlying system of corporate profit and state evictions and repression.

The camp will bring together the people involved in the struggle against fracking from all corners of Europe, to share experiences and exchange skills; to put into practice participatory ways of social organising and visions of just alternatives; and to take action to expose and halt the practice of fracking. There will be a wide range of activities for everyone, from workshops and talks to films, activities for children and skill-shares. We want to learn about fracking, and share skills for resisting this industry from groups all over Europe and further afield, we also want to connect this struggle to other struggles against climate change, fossil fuel extraction, social injustice and other threats that our communities face. An open call for the camp's programme is online and inviting proposals.

The location of the camp has strong symbolic meaning as a spot with plans for fracking. The camp is right next to a former drilling site which they want to expand for shale gas extraction. Frackanpada has the support from inhabitants of the nearby village, that allowed us to camp on their land. Local activists are clear that now is the time to re-escalate action in the region "The more numerous we are, the more it will cost them".

Only together we can stop and resist their plans. It's time to stop their nonsense. It's time for action! No fracking here nor anywhere!
