Join the dancing parade- joyful and colorful but with very significant message! Again we will show together that we are not passive and indifferent towards the ideology of hatred which has been propagated in our city. Let's meet in Wrocław, May 17th !!!
Instead of hatred and disdain we prefer a dialogue, mutual support, respect for freedom and equality. The parade is organized at grass-roots level without hierarchy, leaders manipulated the crowds, without finding somebody guilty. It is a colorful and strong in diversity event. We do want everyone to feel comfortable and free during the parade.
We are taking to the streets because the public space, both everyday and during holidays, is becoming more and more hateful. Moreover, Wrocław has been a very important place of the map of Polish nationalism lately. A neo-nazi show which took place in our city a few weeks ago under the cover of Excommunicated Soldiers event was a symbolic apogee. We remember shameful episodes of Polish history: ghetto benches, fighting squads of pre-war ONR (the National Radical Camp), complimentary opinions of Jędrzej Giertych towards Mussolini and Hitler. We realize that nowadays the leaders of the national movement refer to the identical
methods and ideas as their predecessors. Recently Wrocław has become the bastion of things which should have gone out of date ages ago.
We realize that nationalism, fascism, xenophobia and homofobia are false replies to real problems. Economic crisis, relatively high unemployment, social inequality, a feeling that politicians do not represent their voters cause that in all Europe more and more people are looking for those who are guilty for their fate. We notice the problems and we want to promote real solutions.
We want to represent Wrocław. The city which was the enclave of diversity and freedom in the grey time of PRL (People's Republic of Poland). The city which created Orange Alternative and the city which experienced how essential the cooperation and self-organization (during the floods in 1997 and 2008) were. We represent Wrocław which is open for everyone, where the hatred is replaced with cooperation and a matter-of-fact debate about problems. Join us, May 17th in Wrocław!
