Friday July 5th @ 20.00, we, at Op de Valreep, have a debate and solidarity evening about the uprisings in Turkey.
Taksim Everywhere, Resistance Everywhere: We have in our June and July program three solidarity events for the uprisings in Turkey. After the screening of Ecumenopolis and the info evening, we will go on with a final debate about the uprisings in Turkey with an international perspective. Especially after the fruitful discussions during the info evening, many questions came up we'd like to think about and discuss together: (How) Can we relate the uprisings in Turkey to the ones in other countries? How to tackle the question of self-organization after the uprisings? How/what can we learn from different contexts regarding performing direct democracy? How can we discuss issues concerning the right to the city in relation to the uprisings? How to tackle diversity issues and construct a new discourse throughout the uprisings? How to build an international solidarity for such uprisings? And many other questions…
We will have a couple of invited speakers to briefly talk about these and other questions and then we will have an open debate.
After 22.00, there will be live music with great bands!
Come and join to think and talk together, to show solidarity to the comrades in Turkey.
