Tax haven Netherlands and austerity
Geschreven door Real World Economics dinsdag, 05 maart 2013 23:08
Why is the Netherlands a tax haven? What kind of consequences does this have for our country, and others? Who gains, and who loses? Real World Economics presents an evening, together with the Center for Research on Multinational Corporations (SOMO), where we will discuss the answers to these questions. (Tuesday March 26 2013, 20:00 CREA)
More importantly, alternatives will be presented that can tackle the issue of tax injustice. Unitary taxation is a policy alternative that would tax multinational corporations according to the real economic substance of where they actually do business. A discussion on possibilities for concrete actions, such as a global campaign on tax, will close off the evening.
Speakers: Mariana Paoli, Economic Justice Adviser at Christian Aid UK, Katrin McGauran, researcher at SOMO, Rodrigo Fernandez, researcher at SOMO and University of Amsterdam, Sol Picciotto (via skype)
Entrance is free for students, €5 for others.
