When the NUM went on strike, the Thatcher government blocked them from using their strike funds - if the striking miners couldn't use union money, they'd be starved back to work, Thatcher thought. A small group of queer socialists in London came together for an act of radical mutual aid, establishing Lesbians and Gays Support the Miners (LGSM). LGSM travelled to mining communities in Wales to meet and strategize with miners, networked with other queer communities in the UK, and by 1985, they'd raised about £86,000 (roughly 103.000€ today) to help the miners keep up the fight!

in juli dit jaar is niet eenmalig gebleken.
D.d. 15 augustus werd te koop aangeboden Kinkerstraat 299-A uit een complex van 55 woningen,
eveneens 100% bezit van woningcorporatie de Alliantie.
Vorige week zagen we het aan de Speelmanstraat, ook (!) van de Alliantie.
Goed voorbeeld doet volgen.

The movie presents post-revolutionary Ukraine through a community of people “trying to build a new society” amid the cracks of a collapsing social system. The film is set in central Kyiv, in a space reclaimed by nature. A secretive team of graffiti artists, a group of tech geeks, and an avant-garde gay theater colletive are all striving to create a space where they can coexist, free from the pressures of a dysfunctional society.

Komende zaterdag gaat actiegroep Niet Te Koop in haar strijd voor een stop op de verkoop van woningen,
door woningcorporaties met haar 193ste flitsactie naar de Oosterparkbuurt,
waar Lieven de Key te koop heeft aangeboden de benedenwoning Derde Oosterparkstraat 177 voor de somma van €450.000.
Nog voordat de systematische vernieuwing van de Oosterparkbuurt goed op gang kwam,
werden in de Tweede en Derde Oosterparkstraat al enkele blokjes gebouwd in de ‘open gaten’.
