De verwoestende wereldoorlogen van de 20e eeuw toonden aan dat het kapitalisme als sociaal systeem totaal achterhaald was. Ze werden gevolgd door een “Koude Oorlog” tussen twee imperialistische blokken waarin proxy-conflicten evenveel mensen doodden als de wereldoorlogen. In February 2022, with the beginning of the full-scale Russian invasion of Ukraine, he joined the self-defense of Kiev.
