Wij denken dat Nederland een veilig land is waar je niet bang hoeft te zijn. Toch leven er hier heel veel kinderen dagelijks met de angst dat ze het land uit worden gezet. Deze kinderen leven in gezinslocaties, zeer sobere opvangcentra met vrijheidbeperkende regels en nauwelijks medische en geestelijke zorg. Ze zijn bestemd voor gezinnen die naar Nederland gevlucht zijn en van wie een eerste asielaanvraag is afgewezen. Omdat deze gezinnen ‘illegaal’ zijn, moeten zij betalen voor de aanvraag van hun procedures. | 17

Zoals we weten nemen investeerders en projectontwikkelaars het niet zo nauw met bouwregels en huurrechten. In Amsterdam klagen bestuurders en politici steen en been, tegelijkertijd doen ze te weinig om de geldwolven in bedwang te houden. Zo ook in Bajesdorp. Al jaren vecht Bajesdorp om dit stukje van deze stad Amsterdam vrij en rafelig te houden. De politiek trok haar handen van het ontwikkelen van het Bijlmerbajesterrein af. Wat nooit zou moeten gebeuren gebeurde: een commerciële partij gaat bepalen hoe deze nieuwe wijk eruit gaat zien. | 21
