smart, fucked up state | NNSC - 02.10.2011 14:05
So basically what we have seen is that they use ways of protestors to protect themselves from police violence, as justification for beating up protestors. All to ensure that if there is resistance, there can only be docile resistance. That the ways in which you can act against injustices, are limited to walking in circles controlled, checked, and supervised by the police. So that you may wear yourself out. So that you give up. i dont know how to turn this around in our favour, but i would like to put it up for discussion (i cannot be there at 4 sadly). | Criteria | nn - 03.10.2011 10:00
How about we start actually setting some criteria for activity and actions. So that we no longer have this dull witted defence of "At least we/he/she are doing something". As if "doing something" and activity in itself are useful and good. How about we start deciding if activity is meaningful and useful OR sterile and harmful. "Meaningful action is whatever increases the confidence, the autonomy, the initiative, the participation, the solidarity, the equalitarian tendencies and the self -activity of the masses and whatever assists in their demystification. Sterile and harmful action is whatever reinforces the passivity of the masses, their apathy, their cynicism, their differentiation through hierarchy, their alienation, their reliance on others to do things for them and the degree to which they can therefore be manipulated by others - even by those allegedly acting on their behalf." So under these criteria, how was the demo and action days? | |
