At the Farelsaal, Oberer Quai 12, 2502 Biel-Bienne (switzerland) More information: http://www.buechermesse.ch In 2010, Biel/Bienne was host to the anarchist bookfair for the first time. With almost 500 visitors, more than two dozen exhibitors and a small but fine choice of speeches about the theory and practice of anarchism, the event was a great success. Because of the mediterranean charme of the city – situated at the edge of a lake and at the foot of the Jura Mountains – and it’s bilingualism, we decided that Biel/Bienne deserves to host the anarchist bookfair once more in 2011. This event will take place just before Whitsun, from the third to the fifth of June. What we offer Biel is a city right at the language border, which is characterised by multiculturalism. Also, Biel is very easily accessible by the long-distance public-transport network. So we decided to offer a program which is broad and polyglot. Our aim is to induce publishers, sales, magazines and organisations, which have a domination-free self-image and/or libertarian literature – to take part in the bookfair. We want to enable an exchange across countries and language frontiers with a broad range of speeches, readings, workshops and screenings. The “Farel-Saal” is very big and the open and bright architecture makes it the perfect place for such an event. There is a large inner yard which is ideal for informal exchanges between the visitors, activists and offerers. Last but not least there will be a cultural program, which will provide our hearts and minds with independent fuel. Speaking of supply: the well-frequented bistro will be re-enacted in 2011. So again, we’ll have an exciting choice of sandwiches, cakes, snacks and drinks. → Announcement for Booktables: http://buechermesse.ch/2011/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=6&Itemid=4&lang=en → Announcement for Workshops: http://buechermesse.ch/2011/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=7&Itemid=5&lang=en → Programm of the last Anarchist Bookfair 2010: http://buechermesse.ch/2010/index.php?option=com_content&view=category&layout=blog&id=52&Itemid=66&lang=de More information: http://www.buechermesse.ch Website: http://www.buechermesse.ch |
