Immigrants tortured at greek police station still_not_an_animal - 22.06.2007 20:45
Video footage of greek police torturing two immigrans last summer. Videotaped - using a mobile phone - by a cop present at the event & distributed to his colleagues so that they can all share the good times... greek police: immigrant torture The attached video footage was recorded on a mobile phone by a cop present at the event last summer in the cop station of Omonoia (central athens, greece). The "active" torturer plays a highly entertaining game: after some warming up, where he slaps around the two immigrants, he christens them "one" & "two" & then calls them by their number. When "one" hears his number, he must get up & slap around number "two" - & vice versa. The video was distributed by the pigs to their colleagues for fun's sake (as one othem says "this is just for us..."). It is the apex (or maybe not?...) of police violence witnessed during the last year - all the while seconded & justified by the minister of public order, vyron polydoras (well-known for his links to the worst of the greek extreme right wing) & therefore by the current government as well. The Reuters version may be found at the following link: http://www.reuters.com/news/video/videoStory?videoId=57179 I guess i don't need to explain to people here that greece is right on the southeastern border of the european union & as such acts as the "host" for numerous refugees & economic immigrants. This may very well be read as a blueprint for european policy (minus the gory details; one just has to hire the right people to take care of those, no need for actual politicians to soil their hands - god forbid, in fact!...) toward immigration. |
