uranium transport through NL tonight !!

At about 19.00 hours a uranium transport from the uranium enrichment plant in Gronau will start towards Rotterdam and Russia. The train with up to 1000 t of depleted uranium in form of UF6 is ready to leave now!
The train will go through Muenster and then to the border town Bad Bentheim. It will arrive in Hengelo at about 23.00 hours. The route will be Almelo-Deventer-Apeldoorn-Amersfoort-Utrecht-Rotterdam.
The nuclear company URENCO (owner of the Almelo-enrichtment plant) wants the depleted uranium to be dumped as radioactive waste in Russia (Ural mountains and Siberia). In case of serious accidents UF6 forms on contact with air the very dangerous and lethal hydro fluoric acid.
In Germany spontaneous protests have started along the railway line, in Russia environmentalists are preparing protests too.

The uranium transport started in Gronau at 19.18 Uhr. Shortly before the police cleared a bridge for fear of protests. In Burgsteinfurt activists are at the station + more and more police. The situation is a bit hectic there because the police is very nervous.

The uranium transport passed Muenster Central Station twice (20.42 - 21.16) and has now (22.11) arrived at the Dutch border.
In Muenster activists protested in the Central Station and some media were present. In Burgsteinfurt there was another spontaneous action.
If anyone tracks down the train on its way to Rotterdam - we are very grateful about any further information about routes and times. The more information about the secret trains comes to light the better.
At present protests in Russia are being prepared. The uranium will arrive by ship in St. Petersburg in about one week.
