Do you really think these cartoons were made by (active) Christian people? And that these cartoons are supposed to insult all of Islam? I guess you're wrong. People who made this cartoon make cartoons about all kinds of different subjects all the time. There is no reason to assume they are Christian. The insult goes to people *(mis)using* Islam to justify terrorism against 'the West', Christians, capitalism or materialism. Instead of fighting over these cartoons, it would have been better to condemn terrorism in name of Islam in such a big scale as many Muslims now condemn these cartoons. That way, many people not familiar with Islam in 'the West' wouldn't get the idea of Islam as a violent religion, but hopefully see the beautiful things Islam has to offer. Don't you think it's a bit out of line to just destroy all that's 'Western' in your countries because of a bunch of (I agree) non-funny cartoons? Take your pride and show the world it's not Islam which is terrorist, but some terrorists are using your religion. You seem to have a kind of hatred against 'the West', capitalism and materialism, but I hope you will think things over and realize quite some people in 'the West' don't like capitalism and materialism as well, just like quite some Muslims don't like terrorism. I'd like to ask your opinion about the Topkapi Palace in Istanbul, Turkey. There is a collection of the prophet Mohammed's hair, teeth, etc. Don't you think it's a bigger insult for Mohammed as an anti-capitalist to ask an entrance fee to show his body parts to people of his own religion? In the Qoran are quite some passages of anti-materialism; don't you think showing body parts as a kind of relic is materialism in a very pure form? If you agree with me, then why didn't the Muslim society ever demonstrate against this big insult? | |
