10 years of Ahaus Sunday Strolls Wiga Münster - 20.12.2004 12:07
150 people demonstrated on Sunday 19 December at the Ahaus interim depot for an immediate exit from atomic power production. At the same time they celebrated the 10th anniversary of the Ahaus Sunday Stroll. More pictures at http://bilder.mega-waltrop.de/Sonntagsspaziergang-Ahaus__19_Dez Since December 1994, on every third Sunday of the month, at 2 pm, a Sunday stroll takes place. It has varied from cozy walks to rail blockades, resistance camps, tractor convoys, demos on motorway overpasses and so forth. Yesterday, together with a Father Christmas, in glorious sunshine, things were cozy. No wonder: in 2004 it was possible to prevent the firmly agreed Castor waste transports from Dresden to Ahaus! In neighbouring Gronau the expansion permit [for uranium enrichment] was also prevented. For the anti-atomic initiatives in the Münsterland this is a successful year. To make 2005 successful as well, here are the next resistance dates: 6. February: Sunday Stroll in Gronau with carneval motto (carneval Sunday) – Close down Gronau immediately. 20 February: Big Sunday Stroll in Ahaus, to heat up resistance um den Widerstand gegen die Castor-Transporte aus Dresden richtig anzuheizen. Auch 2005 gibt es kein ruhiges Münsterland!! e-Mail:: wigatom@web.de ¦ Homepage:: http://www.wigatom.de ¦ A few pictures of the anniversary: http://bilder.mega-waltrop.de/Sonntagsspaziergang-Ahaus__19_Dezember_04.html Translated by Diet Simon Website: http:// http://www.mega-waltrop.de |
