Functioning Plan of the Alternative, Anticapitalistic and Anti-Wars Village (AAAV)
1) General Organization of AAAV The organization of AAAV is based on a triple dimension :
The neighbourhoods (quartiers)
The collective spaces "inter-quartiers" (reception, coordination of information and actions space, children's space, information space/ table of militant press and of alternative experiences)
The thematic spaces (social fight forum, international solidarities forum, independent medias forum, independent and alternative cultures forum etc.)
The neighbourhoods (quartiers) are organized around a collective kitchen, which is its central space of life. They are organized on the basis of free association in order to promote as much as possible the exchanges and the meetings, especially on an international level. So consider where you are going to stay ! The quartiers are autonomic considering their actions and projects, corresponding to the call for the AAAV and its functioning plan. The associations, the political and syndicalist organizations implicated in the organization and the preparation of the AAAV or participating in its calling text, can appear as such in the village. However, their appearance will be taking place in a concrete space, identified as information space with militant press tables and stands concerning the alternative and self-administrated experiences. The organizations that are present in the AAAV can also, under their name, organize and coordinate debates. The general organization of the Village is held by the local village collectives and by the anti-G8 collectives taking part in the project of the AAAV. Only these entities are able to benefit a full freedom of appearance in the Village. They are forming the coordinating and organizing collective of the AAAV.
2) The Functioning of the AAAV. * Behaviour All sexist, racist, anti-Semite, homophobic, provoking or simply violent behaviour is to be excluded from the village. Any person having such behaviour will have to apologise and if he/she persists in his/her sayings and doings will no more have place in the village.
* Reception A reception tent will be placed at the entrance of the village. Anyone wishing to stay in the village has to pass by this tent where the identity of the AAAV and its functioning plan will be explicated as well as all the necessary information that will allow him/her to integrate in the life of the village the soonest possible.
* Vehicles The use of motor vehicles is not allowed in the village for obvious safety, rhythm of life and pollution reasons. From that rule are excluded the "first aid" vehicles as well as those necessary for the organization, installation, and the collective structures. A parking space will be provided to the participants of AAAV.
* Journalists A tent will be installed by the reception where the journalists, photographers, sociologists, ethnologists or others will have to pass in order either to receive a passing card or not to be accepted in the village. This people will not be able to move in the village without authorization given by the communication commission of the AAAV, which also defines the places that can be filmed or photographed in order to protect the intimacy of those participating in the AAAV.
* Life and "Consummation" in the Village AAAV is not a place of consummation so the people desiring to live in the village will have to be involved in its everyday life, to participate in the kitchen, in the cleaning, in the decision making etc. The money that will be in any way collected (except for these of the press tables) it is obligatory that will go to the common fund of the village and will be redistributed according to its needs of organization and functioning.
- Meals : All kitchens are for free. Considering many participants' beliefs regarding the animals, it would be appreciated that the kitchens avoid using meat in their meals.
- "Cafes" : Only the alcohol will be priced. The selling of alcohol will only take place in the decided and authorized by the organization collective places. The profits will exclusively go to the common fund of the village in order to finance some of the general expenses of the organization (electricity, renting of materials, communication expenses etc.) The other drinks will be free of price (everyone gives what he/she can or consider appropriate).
