For weeks, South Korean activists have staged frequent rallies and marches to protest the deaths of two teen-age girls fatally struck by an armored U.S. military vehicle in June. Activists demanded that the U.S. military revoke its decision to retain jurisdiction over Sgt. Mark Walker and Sgt. Fernando Nino, who were in the armored vehicle that hit Shim Mi-son and Shin Hyo-sun, both 14, on June 13. Photo: 15 August 2002.
