De ontmaksering van George "Crook" Bush

De beer is los. Het recente nieuws over "corporate Fraud" staat op het punt om de George Bush en zijn Vice President Dick Cheney te ontmaskeren als Corporate Crooks.
Coorporate Crooks is de term die de Village Voice gebruikte om George Bush te typeren op  http://www.villagevoice.com/issues/0228/ridgeway.php
"President George Bush says he's outraged at the scams that have sent big-name companies crashing, and he's not going to take it anymore. Feeding the polls, Bush tells the nation he wants new laws to bring criminal charges against dirty-dealing CEOs who fake company books and destroy not only the public's trust but its savings as well."
"If Bush really wanted to address the situation, all he'd have to do is to pick up the phone, call Attorney General John Ashcroft, and ask him to launch an investigation of any one of these CEOs for fraud, conspiracy, theft, obstruction of justice, or perjury. The president could also turn to the Securities and Exchange Commission, which can refer a civil case for criminal prosecution. Bush doesn't need additional legislation to do this. All he has to do is call. He refused to do that in the Enron case, even though his administration knew about the scandal months before the company went public with its bankruptcy. And he hasn't done it with any of the subsequent double-dealings."

President George W. Bush faces the possibility of impeachment this week as his ideological commitment to an imperialist, neo-liberal agenda of corporate world domination wavers.
“I only wanted to become president to help people,” Bush said in his statement, “but when I got into power my dad and his oil baron mates forced me to invade Afghanistan, when all I wanted to do was sit down with a nice hot cup of tea and talk about American imperialism.”
“I’m totally miserable being a politician,” he said, “all I want to do is go back to the ranch in Texas and earn an honest living herding cattle.”
“I might even start a cooperative with the local native population.”

"The Great Depression was not an event that wiped out U.S. capitalists. It was an event that made the rich even richer by transferring the wealth of the people into the hands of the wealthy. Legendary is Bank of America’s rise to affluence through real estate foreclosures from 1929-37. Don’t believe for a minute that the richest of the rich will be hurt by the coming collapse. The only ones hurt will be you and me.
Zo begint de conclusie van een zeer grondige analyse/uitlegt van de huidige economische situatie en aanstaande beurskrach.
Goed geschreven verhaal over taaie materie -de economie- (en dan ook nog in het Engels), maar een echte aanrader wanneer je de huidige economie beter wilt begrijpen.
