There is a demonstration this Saturday at 18:00 in the Plaza Llucmajor in defense of Can Madeu! Spread the Word!! For those who don´t know, Can Masdeu is a squatted house in the hills above the neighborhood of Nou Barris, overlooking Barcelona. In addition to serving as a laboratory for rural-urban (rurban) projects, Can Masdeu has provided an important space for social movements in Barcelona and around Europe, and many of its residents have participated in broader social struggles, including the demonstration for a "New Culture of Water" against the Damming of the Ebre River, and the Campaign Against the Europe of Capital and the War. Many of those living in Can Masdeu have been active in the anti-capitalist globalization and other related movements. |
