Zondag 10 juli: Reverend Billy & Kerk in Amsterdam

Zondag is Reverend Billy, bekend van het bestoken van Starbucks-vestigingen en andere nare multinationals, op bezoek in Amsterdam. Hij brengt het hele Earthalujah Gospel Choir met zich mee.

De Kerk tegen Koopziekte, waarvan iedereen lid kan worden, houdt eerst een masterclass in het Feinhouttheater (als onderdeel van het fringe festival)

The Reverend, after his portrayal in the Henk van der Meyden vehicle “Crazyshopping” last year – now shows up in person in Amsterdam to address the sins of the UBS Bank, climate change sinner. The troupe will stage their “worship-show” at Rozentheatre Sunday night July 10th.

The Earthalujah Church is a New York City –based theatre company invited to participate in this performance as a part of the Amsterdam Fringe Festival
William Talen, the performance artist in the title role of “Reverend Billy” is descended from the Talen family of the famously conservative town of Staphorst. Talen relatives will attend the Sunday show.

ik snap de clou niet van deze nozems. allereerst moet indymedia niks van de kerk hebben tenzij het in hun straatje van pas komt.
Verder snap ik niks van deze knakkers. Op deze film staat de slogan "what would Jesus buy?" http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=73AyxENTsZs
inderdaad een zeer activistisch getinte slogan maar wel haaks op de boodschap van Paulus. What would jesus do? is anti genadeboodschap en pro religie.
en aan religie hadden de anarchistische jongens en meisjes toch zo'n hekel? = schijnheilig.
Verder snap ik niet waarom ik deze nozem interessant moet vinden.

jeezus, wel eens van humor gehoord (oftewel ludiek actievoeren)? Due hele 'kerk' is een grote grap om actie te voeren tegen grote bedrijven die alles wat klein en fijn is/was wegbuldozeren. kijk eerst eens op zo'n website voordat je begint te tetteren...

Deze 'kerk' heeft totaal niks met het christendom te maken, behalve dat het deels parodierend gebruik maakt van gospel elementen. Inhoudelijk dus volstrekt onchristelijk. En nee, ook niet stiekem. Heb de man wel eens gesproken, hij gelooft niet. Succes verder met zeiken.
