Klimaatactiekamp 6-11 juli Antwerpen

Het kapitalisme is een systeem in crisis. De emissies stijgen, de sociale ongelijkheid groeit, de banken en multinationals blijven investeren in fossiele brandstoffen. Emissiehandel zet geen zoden aan de dijk. Maar er is ook reden tot optimisme: de mondiale klimaatbeweging groeit en wordt steeds actiever. "System change, not climate change" is een boodschap die steeds luider klinkt.

Climate Justice Action lag de voorbije jaren aan de basis van een reeks directe acties en twee klimaatactiekampen. Dit jaar kozen we voor het thema offsetting en emissiehandel. Op de openingsdag van de klimaatonderhandelingen in Cancún bezetten we nog de lokalen van IETA, een lobbygroep voor emissiehandel.
In samenwerking met groeNoord en andere partners (Ademloos, Climaxi, Climat et Justice Sociale, Masereelfonds en anderen), komt er dit jaar opnieuw een klimaatactiekamp in Antwerpen. Thematisch zal er in het bijzonder aandacht zijn voor emissiehandel en voor de gevolgen van wegeninfrastructuur voor de leefbaarheid van Antwerpen.
Het klimaatactiekamp wordt een week vol interesssante workshops, ontmoetingen, ecologisch leven en directe actie. Het wordt ook vooral plezant! Je kan ons contacteren op  info@klimaatactiekamp.org

Capitalism is a system in crisis. Emissions increase, the social inequality grows, banks and multinationals continue to invest in fossil fuels. Emissions trading would not solve this problem. But there is also reason for optimism: the global climate movement is growing and is increasingly active. "System change, not climate change" is a message that sounds ever louder.
Climate Justice Action in recent years was the basis for a series of direct actions and two climate action camps. This year we chose the theme of offsetting and emissions trading. On the opening day of climate talks in Cancún we occupied the premises of IETA, a lobbying group for emissions trading.
Together with groeNoord and other partners (Ademloos, Climaxi, Climat et Justice Sociale, Masereelfonds and others), a climate action camp will come to Antwerp again this year. There will be focus on emissions trading and on the impact of road infrastructure for the livability of Antwerp.
