In one of the most exclusive areas of London and in an empty house valued at over 12 million euros, the squatters have moved in. It is owned by Saif al-Islam, the son of Muammar Gaddafi. The group calling themselves, “Topple the Tyrants” say they will remain in the eight bedroom mansion until it can be returned to the people of Libya. Its not known how many are in the house but a spokesman for the group explained their actions. “We’ve occupied the 10-million Pound mansion of Saif al-Islam Gaddafi, the son of the Libyan dictator, Colonel Gaddafi. We’ve done this in solidarity with the people of Libya and their struggle against the murderous Gaddafi regime,” he said. Gaddafi’s 38-year-old son lived in London when he was a student. Police say they are monitoring the situation at his house. The British government has already seized more than two and a half billion euros in assets belonging to the Gaddafi family. source: http://www.euronews.net/2011/03/09/squatters-move-into-gaddafi-mansion/ |
