Greece: Student call for Wednesday’s General Strike occupiedlondon.org - 15.12.2010 13:13
It would be impossible to gather and translate all the call-outs for the General Strike demonstration of December 15th in Athens – there are far too many. As an indication of the spirits in the city, however, we are posting a translation of the text issued by the collective “High School Students with Memory”, which is very revealing. DECEMBER 15TH: EVERYONE TO THE STREETS The state is throwing us to the streets, and so, they’ll find us on the streets. We see for all this time our parents, one by one, thrown out to the street and we don’t say a word. We see wages lowered and fear that when we come to work there will be no wages at all and that we’ll be slaves (not that it is that different today). NO CONSENSUS – NO TOLERANCE …o the anti-social plans of global sovereignty, of the state and the bosses who push for the total, violent restructuring of society, the destruction and looting of nature, aiming for exploitation, repression and control, sentencing the many to impoverishment. RESISTANCE To the constant intensification of exploitation in workplaces and to the blackmail of unemployment. Forward to social revolution. Your days of plenty are numbered. We call our our fellow classmates and the university students to occupy their schools and take to the streets. Our rage is HUGE. Now, more than ever, whoever does not take a share in the struggle will have a share in defeat. EVERYONE TO THE CLASS DEMONSTRATION IN ATHENS, THESSALONIKI AND ALL OTHER CITIES THESSALONIKI: KAMARA, 9 AM ATHENS: ARCHEOLOGICAL MUSEUM, 11 AM EVERYONE TO THE STREETS ON WEDNESDAY AND EVERY DAY! AGAINST ALL AUTHORITY! LONG LIVE THE REVOLUTION, LONG LIVE ANARCHY! High school students with memory |
