This is precisely what enables authority to see it one-dimensionally, by stating that prohibition of squatting is the epicentre or front-line of resistance.
Yes it is an urgent issue that call for deviance and resistance, nevertheless it is the most slippery of issues because history has made the squatting movement seem isolated, outside of society... which is untrue but still one cannot neglect this reality of public appearance. Fuck public appearance you could say, but that's just giving into politically motivated marginalization and thus the risk of not achieving broad support.
The left should redefine there common goals and make sure it is accessible to others. It is questionable if the squatting movements holds such a force or openness, despite it being an important issue.
What should unite us is our common believe in radical change.

'De kraakbeweging' would like to let the 'the squatters of amsterdam' know that generic naming is silly and plain out incorrect.
Perhaps we should not take heed from monthy python's 'life of brian'
