Groenfront bezet Noordkasteel
Het gonsde in Antwerpen al weken dat men het Sint-Annabos ging bezetten. De actievoerders hebben iedereen op een verkeerd been gezet. Sinds vorige nacht bezetten ze, als actie tegen de plannen van de BAM, een bos in het Noordkasteel.
De groep jongeren die deze actie voeren zijn goed georganiseerd. Ik spreek met hun woordvoerder.
Wat is er gaande en wat is de bedoeling?
We hebben afgelopen nacht een bos aan het Noordkasteel bezet en we willen dat bezet houden tot aan de aangekondigde beslissing, over de Oosterweel verbinding, van de Vlaamse regering. De belangrijkste thema's binnen deze discussie zijn voor ons, milieu, gezondheid en natuurbehoud. De Vlaamse regering hanteert heel andere argumenten. Het is onze bedoeling onze argumenten met deze actie in de verf te zetten.
Vindt u één van de twee beslissingen die op tafel liggen aanvaardbaar?
Voor zover ik weet, want de berichtgeving van de Vlaamse regering is steeds een beetje vaag, bestuderen ze alleen het BAM tracé met brug en het BAM tracé met tunnel. Maar het blijft hetzelfde tracé. En met dat tracé of het nu een tunnel is of een brug verdwijnt op Linker Oever het Sint-Annabos en hier een stuk bos aan het Noordkasteel. Er komt zelfs een autostrade aan het natuurgebied van Blokkersdijk. Voor ons zijn beide tracés even slecht.
Het is te verwachten dat Peeters één van de 2 beslissingen gaat nemen, dan is het te verwachten dat jullie actie uitloopt.
Op 27 september evalueren we onze actie en bepalen dan onze verdere acties. Ik denk dat alle actiegroepen nu eerst de beslissing van de Vlaamse regering afwachten en zich voorbereiden op een verderzetting van het verzet. Ieder rationeel denkend mens, die de vele argumenten tegen dat BAM tracé kent, vindt het ondenkbaar dat het er komt. Er zijn dus andere redenen waarom de Vlaamse regering het BAM tracé persé en kost wat kost willen behouden. De volksgezondheid, het fijn stof en het milieu zijn voor ons prioriteit. Vele studies tonen aan dat BAM, zelfs de mobiliteitsproblemen niet afdoende oplost. Het voorstel van Forum 2020 scoort op al deze punten beter.

Wie zijn jullie? Wij zijn een groep activisten die besloten hebben om het natuur- en milieuthema terug op de Oosterweel-agenda te plaatsen. Het gaat over meer dan kostprijs en mobiliteit. Het gaat ook over milieu en gezondheid. Wij zijn een groep mensen die daarvoor deze geweldloze actie ondernemen met als doel onze boodschap in de kijker te brengen.

Since last night occupied the new action group Groenoord Noordkasteelbos Antwerp. They have made tree houses to establish themselves in chains. "We decided not to wait," said spokesman Tom. "The Flemish government wants to 27.9 a choice based on economic and technical arguments. It is clear that environmental and health will not count in the decision. It is incomprehensible for a project that has just as much impact it will have. It is irresponsible to destroy more natural now disappearing biodiversity and climate change. North Castle is an area with a forest and a lake. The domain is used for recreation and cultural activities. According to a survey by the New Antwerp is the favorite green spot in the city.
