 Zoveel woorden in zo'n lullig hpdetijdstuk en dan niet een over het feit dat de machtsovername van Pol Pot voorafgegaan werd door een van de meest gruwelijke en laffe illegale aanvallen in de wereldgeschiedenis, namelijk door het Amerikaanse leger dat vanaf 1970 het land 'terug naar de steentijd' bombardeerde. Of vertel iets over het Franse koloniale bewind daarvoor, als je een verklaring wilt geven voor het feit dat er uiteindelijk zo'n bewind als dat van Pol Pot kon ontstaan. Zo moeilijk is dat toch niet?
