(English text below) Een avond met evaluatie van het Europees Sociaal Forum, en presentatie van komende campagnes rond migratie, handel en de NAVO
Wat heeft het ESF opgeleverd? What did the ESF deliver?
Van 17-21 september voltrok zich in de Zweedse stad Malmö het vijfde Europees Sociaal Forum (ESF). Een bont programma dat uitpuilde van workshops en seminars, met ook een uitgebreid cultureel programma en een aanpalend, half geïntegreerd 'radicaal' programma.
Op dat ESF zijn allerlei plannen gemaakt voor toekomstige campagnes, actiedagen en demonstraties. Een aantal daarvan willen we op een verslagavond presenteren en toelichten. Het gaat met name om de gebieden
- Migratie, (EU terugkeerrichtlijn, frontex)
- Handel en economie (Global Europe)
- Militarisme en oorlog (NAVO-viering Straatsburg komend jaar)
- Vakbonden en arbeidsstrijd
- Mogelijk nog aangevuld door info over landbouw/voedselcrisis en milieu/klimaat
De avond zal beginnen met een kritische evaluatie van het Sociaal Forum en het proces, door mensen die eraan deelgenomen hebben. Na meer gedetailleerde informatie over de deelgebieden, wordt de avond afgesloten met een overzicht van campagnes, datums van acties en (tegen)toppen en mobilisaties die in het verschiet liggen
De avond is op vrijdag 3 oktober en begint om 20.00 uur, Plantage Doklaan 10-12 Amsterdam

What did the ESF deliver?
(An evening evaluating the European Social Forum and presenting coming campaigns and mobilizations)
From September 17 till 21 Malmö hosted the 5th European Social Forum (ESF). With a program with hundreds of workshops and seminars, but also a vast cultural program and a parallel and semi-integrated 'radical' program.
On the ESF diverse plans were made (or presented) for future campaigns, actiondays and demonstrations. We want to highlight some of them on a special evening, Friday October 3d. They concern mainly the area's of:
- Migration (struggle against EU Return directive, frontex, etc.)
- Trade and economy (Global Europe)
- Militarism and war (NATO-festivities Strassbourg)
- Trade unions and labour-struggle
- Possibly added by some themes like agriculture/foodcrisis and environment/climate
the eving will start with a critical evaluation of the Social Forum and its process, by people who participated. After some more detailed information on the issues mentioned above, we will end the program with an overview of coming campaigns, actions and mobilizations.
The event is on Friday October 3d
and starts at 20.00 (8 pm) at Plantage Doklaan 10-12 Amsterdam
