 Cohen zei in een reactie weten dat het gedrag van de krakers 'onaanvaardbaar' is en 'absoluut niet kan'. "Daarmee worden niet alleen mijn ruiten ingegooid, maar ook de ruiten van de kraakbeweging". De actie is volgens hem namelijk koren op de molen van diegenen die een kraakverbod bepleiten. Dat terwijl een groot deel van de kraakbeweging zich wel netjes gedraagd, aldus de burgemeester.
