Guests Tea Hvala and Zoe Gudovic Monday 26th of May at 21.30h at VRANKRIJK (Spuistraat 216, AMSTERDAM) We are inviting you to a vivid presentation of the Red Dawn festival from Ljubljana, Slovenia and the Queer Bograde, from Belgrade, Serbia. The debate will follow. Guests Tea Hvala and Zoe Gudovic Queer Beograd Queer Belgrade as a radical queer collective, differ from the mainstream LGBT organisations in that we work on all kinds of politics: But it came to us that we needed to explain why, why do we connect all kinds of politics together? Why do we refuse to stay in the ‘identity politics’ box? How does queer relate to the Balkans context – not just as some western import? And what the hell is queer anyway???? So many questions, but this is how we began to open the way to building a social space where not only discussions but actual change could to occur.. http://www.queerbeograd.org/ Red dawn Festival Red Dawns festival happens annually around March 8th in the Autonomous Cultural Center Metelkova mesto (www.metelkova.org) in Ljubljana, Slovenia. Since 2000 and the 1st Red Dawns, the organizers have shifted from self-defining it as women to feminist and finally in 2007, to a feminist and queer festival. The presentation is going to outline the reasons for and consequences of Red Dawns; constant need for (re)articulation. Welcome! - http://www.kudmreza.org/rdece/ |
